Radikal Cowls

Fatimah @disturningthefleece and I designed these cowls with yarn from Adella @lolabeanyarnco and Shobha @serendipitouswool.

When designing this cowl, Fatimah and Elisabeth, really wanted to be intentional which each stitch and yarn selection. They chose to juxtapose textured and smooth stitches in an uneven manner. None of the sections is the same size. This is a reflection of how our community is diverse, yet a bit similar. The pop of color was added using a yarn weight that is a bit larger than the other used to reflect what Radicle Threads Magazine represents in the Fiber and Textile industry. A little pop of sunshine, going against the grain, paving a way.

Fatimah used fingering weight yarns held double to create a DK weight from LolaBean Yarn Co. Navy Bean in Cafe Con Leche and Serendipitous Wool Company Atma in Smidgen.
