Spring is around the corner and I felt it was time for me to share this pattern I wrote last year with you all. It’s a very beginner friendly top which can be adjusted to fit any body. I love wearing it with highwaisted jeans, long flowy skirt or shorts.
This beginner-friendly pattern is written in a recipe style, with 3 inches positive ease, to allow for it to be adjustable to any size desired.
The sample is made in size Medium using Rainbow Organic by Hobbii Yarn, 100% Cotton superfine weight. The pattern uses 2 strands of superfine cotton held together or you can use one strand of DK weight to create the tee. Testers have found success with DK and worsted weight yarn such as Paintbox DK, Paintbox Cotton DK, Lion Brand Comfy Cotton Blend, Premier Cotton Yarn, Bernat Baby Sport, and Lion Brand Jeans.
● Hook Size: 5.5 mm / US: I9
● Yarn: Rainbow Organic by Hobbii Yarn, 100% Cotton superfine weight; 2 strands held together. You will need a main color (MC) for the body and contrasting color (CC) for the ribbing and accents. If you don’t have superfine weight, you can use single strands of DK or worsted weight yarn.
● Yardage: S(250g MC, 50g CC), M(300 g MC, 50g CC), L(350g MC, 50g CC), XL(400g MC, 60g CC). Adjustment to other sizes are given in the pattern, yarn quantity will vary based on specific dimensions.
● Measuring tape
● 3 Stitch markers
Gauge: 13dc x 8 rows= 4×4 inch
Notes: Project includes basic stitches and shaping. When working the sleeves, ch2, dc in same space as ch-2. Do not sl st in ch2 of previous row. sl st only on top of dc of previous row to avoid adding stitches. Tee is worked in 2 pieces joined together to create your top.
