Let your love for texture shine through when you make the Noah Blanket, a FREE crochet C2C patchwork baby blanket.

If you dislike making blankets as much as I do, this project is for you! Introducing the Noah Blanket, a seriously cute textured baby afghan that you can make in a pinch. My future sister-in-law is minutes away from having my brother’s first child! As soon as I heard the happy news, I quickly frogged the Temperature blanket I was making my brother and I jumped into action with my favorite Serendipitous Wool Co yarn.

About the Noah Blanket
The Noah Blanket is constructed using the corner-to-corner (C2C) crochet method. This technique allows you to crochet by making individual squares work diagonally from one corner to the opposite. The squares can be then seamed together to create a Noah Baby Blanket as large or small as you desire. Using C2C crochet squares for the blankets provides you with the freedom to adjust the size of each square, not just the finished Noah blanket.
WHAT YOU NEED TO MAKE THE NOAH BLANKET
Here’s a list of the supplies you’ll need for the Noah Blanket.
- THE YARN: The Noah Blanket is made using Serendipitous Wool Co. in Ripened Avocado on her Mata base. The Mata base is a worsted-weight of 100% superwash merino wool 100g/199m/218y. I used 3 skeins for my blanket.
- COMMERCIAL YARN OPTIONS: The Noah Blanket can also be worked up in these gorgeous yarns from WeCrochet.
- Mighty Stitch is a superwash combining 20% Superwash Wool and 80% Acrylic, this yarn is perfect for baby blankets. Easy-care yarn in a wide range of gorgeous hues, perfect for Noah Blanket to gift to busy parents. At $4.99/ skein, your C2C blanket will be Stroller ($19.96), Receiving ($39.92), Swaddle ($79.84). Free shipping on orders $50 and more.
- Wool of the Andes Spun from Peruvian wool, the strong fiber has an excellent balance of structure, loft, and drape that serves a wide variety of uses.
- Wool of the Andes Superwash is the same worsted weight Peruvian wool, specially treated to prevent felting so you can enjoy all the warmth, structure, and durability of wool with the convenience of machine washing making it particularly excellent for projects that are heavily used such as the Noah Blanket. At $5.49/ skein, your C2C blanket will be Stroller ($43.92), Receiving ($87.84), Swaddle ($175.68). Free shipping on orders $50 and more.
- Swish a machine-washable yarn that is super soft, and worthy of being worn against a baby’s skin. At $6.99/ skein, your C2C blanket will be Stroller ($55.92), Receiving ($111.84), Swaddle ($223.68). Free shipping on orders $50 and more.
- THE HOOK: The Noah Blanket uses a 4mm|G crochet hook. For this project, I used this crochet hook as it has just the right amount of grip that provides hours of comfortable crocheting. Grab the Caspian crochet hook set here so you have the whole collection for all your projects.
- THE NOTIONS: You will also need a pair of scissors, a tapestry needle, and blocking supplies: I used a garment steamer, these blocking mats, and these rust-proof blocking pins to block my blanket.
