The Denis beanie is constructed using the Tunisian crochet technique and worked flat. The pattern uses the Tunisian Honeycomb Stitch for the main body and features a large horseshoe cable. Since it is worked flat, the two pieces are joined together and finished using the applied ribbing. Although measurements are available in the pattern, Denis beanie crochet pattern can be easily adjustable to fit YOUR head circumference by following the instructions below.
Here’s a list of the supplies you’ll need for the Denis beanie.

GAUGE
Gauge is not important for this project as it is measurement based.
Tunisian Simple Stitch (Tss)- insert hook from right to left behind single vertical thread. yarn over hook, draw loop through and leave on hook, unless otherwise stated, the hook is always inserted in this way.
Tunisian Purl Stitch (Tps)– on forward half of row, bring yarn to front, insert hook in next vertical bar, bring yarn to back under hook, wrap around hook from back to front, draw yarn through st (purl made)
Tunisian Honeycomb Stitch (Thc)– Alternate between Tps and Tss throughout the row. If row 1 started with Tss, start row 2 with tps and alternate throughout the row to create the pattern.
Although not mentioned in the instructions, a return pass is worked at after each forward pass.
Standard Return Pass- yo, draw through 1 loop, (this ch forms the edge st). Yo, and draw through 2 loops. Repeat step 2 until 1 loop remains on hook. Do not turn. The loop left on the hook is the 1st st of the next row.
